Training Overview

This course is intended to provide delegates with information that will enable care staff to recognise and report safeguarding issues as the law requires

The aim of this session is to explore the varying forms of abuse and to discuss the impact of abuse on the individual and consider the management of abuse.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Describe the varying forms of abuse
  • Explore the possible causes of abuse
  • Describe the legislation that protects vulnerable adults
  • Describe the procedure for reporting safeguarding issues

The activities will be carried out in groups and your answers discussed and shared with the whole group

Who is it for?

This course is for Residential and Domiciliary care workers including Carers, Supervisors, Trainers and Managers who are working with older people, vulnerable adults and service users living in their own home. It is also suitable for Residential or Domiciliary care workers undertaking the Skills For Care Common Induction Standards or QCF Mandatory Units: HSC24 (EDEXCEL unit 5)
