The aim of the course is to enable students to understand a range of motivations and management of challenging behaviour.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session delegates will be able to

  • Define challenging behaviour
  • Explore a range of motivations for challenging behaviour
  • Explore a range of techniques to manage challenging behaviour
  • Explain the legal and professional responsibilities of caring for service users who display challenging behaviour

Who is it for?

This course is for Residential and Domiciliary care workers including Carers, Supervisors, Trainers and Managers who are working with older people, vulnerable adults and service users living in their own home. It is also suitable for Residential or Domiciliary care workers undertaking the Skills For Care Common Induction Standards (CIS). Successful completion of this training will also provide you with direct knowledge evidence that can be used towards a QCF diploma.
