Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care

Adult Pathway

The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) confirms competence in areas of health and social care as appropriate and is the required qualification for registration and regulatory requirements in the social care sector in England. Learners have the opportunity to take a general qualification in health and social care, or they may specialise in dementia care, or learning disabilities.

To achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care learners must achieve a minimum of 46 credits overall.

Residential Childcare

The Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare is for learners who work in residential childcare settings. It gives learners the opportunity to develop and demonstrate competence in job roles such as a residential care worker or a short break carer.

Learners will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate a range of technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. This includes the development of children and young people in residential childcare, how to support positive outcomes for children and young people in residential childcare, how to safeguard and protect children and young people in residential childcare and how to support children and young people who have experienced harm or abuse.

Progression opportunities are available to learners who achieve this qualification
