Sylwia Latacz, Registered Manager at Accolade Support and Care, has always been passionate about supporting and upskilling her entire team. Recently, she took advantage of the new Care Certificate Level 2 qualification offered by Access Skills and the LDSS funding to enroll nine of her team members. The experience, as she describes, was smoother and more rewarding than she ever anticipated.
“When I initially reached out to enquire about the course, Access Skills provided a detailed leaflet outlining everything we needed to know about the qualification, including eligibility criteria, course content, and how the new LDSS funding works. This actually made it easy for me and my team to understand the benefits and requirements. The clear communication really helped our staff feel confident and prepared about what to expect from the training.” Sylwia shares.
The entire enrolment process was straightforward and efficient, with Access Skills keeping Sylwia informed at every stage and the team even contacting the learners directly to support them in completing their applications. “The entire team at Access Skills made the process effortless, their communication and guidance ensured we met the required timeframe with ease” Sylwia explains.
One particular standout moment for Sylwia was the support she received from Dina, a team member at Access Skills. As she recounted; “Dina from Access Skills was exceptionally helpful throughout the process, she provided hands-on guidance to help us set up our account on the LDSS portal and navigate the claims process. Despite being a newbie to the funding system, I found the portal user-friendly, with clear instructions for submitting claims.”
To make the process way more easier for other employers, Sylwia outlined the step-by-steep LDSS funding process based on her experience:
The Level 2 care qualification itself has been very transformative for Sylwia’s team. The qualification is comprehensive, accessible, and designed to meet the evolving needs of the care sector. Thanks to the new LDSS funding, we were excited to be able to access this training at a significantly reduced cost, with minimal effort on our end – she says.
