It also focuses on effective teamwork and partnership working.

The Care Certificate Standard 2 supports you in creating and maintaining a personal development plan. You will learn how feedback, reflection, and ongoing learning help improve performance, build confidence, and strengthen professional skills and knowledge.

This standard explains how duty of care underpins safe and compassionate practice. You will learn how to balance duty of care with individual rights, respond to concerns or complaints, and manage incidents, conflicts, and challenging situations appropriately.

Standard 4 explores inclusion, equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice. Giving you a clear understanding of legislation, recognising different forms of discrimination, and learn how to promote respect, fairness, and inclusive support within care settings.

The Care Certificate Standard 5 focuses on showing you how to deliver care that respects individual preferences, needs, and choices while following care plans.

Standard 6 highlights the importance of clear communication in care. Including the different communication methods and how to streamine communications to individual preferences.

This standard explores how to protect and promote privacy, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care. You will learn practical approaches to supporting choice, maintaining confidentiality, and recognising when to raise concerns.

Standard 8 focuses on supporting individuals with safe nutrition and hydration. You will understand food safety, food hygiene and food compliance.

This is one of the most important standards. This standard builds your understanding of mental health needs, dementia, learning disabilities, and autism. Teaching you how to provide person-centered support while promoting wellbeing and reducing stigma.

The Care Certificate Standard 10 explains how to recognise signs of abuse or neglect and respond appropriately. You will understand safeguarding principles, reporting procedures, and your responsibility to protect individuals from harm.

This standard introduces your responsibilities in protecting children and young people. You will learn how to identify risks, respond to concerns, and follow safeguarding procedures where children may be affected.

Standard 12 covers essential life-saving skills based on UK Resuscitation Council guidance. You will understand how to recognise emergencies, respond safely, and provide basic life support within your role.

This standard explains how to maintain a safe working environment through risk assessment, accident prevention, safe handling practices, and understanding workplace policies and procedures.

Standard 14 focuses on secure and lawful information management. You will learn about confidentiality, data protection, record-keeping, and how to share information appropriately.

The most recent standard 16 teaches understanding of learning disabilities and autism. You will learn how to properly communicate, recognise needs, promote independence and respect when dealing with Autistic individuals.
